The Samarra Pharmaceutical Company has launched its first production batch of anti-nausea tablets, marking a new addition to Iraq's domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The company said the product, manufactured as part of its November 2025 production plan, is used to treat nausea and vomiting in patients following surgical operations.
The medicine has been produced for the first time locally, as part of efforts to expand national pharmaceutical output, reduce reliance on imports, and strengthen domestic drug manufacturing capacity.
The company said the launch also reflects ongoing investment in upgrading production processes, raising quality standards, and expanding output to maintain Samarra Drugs' position within Iraq's pharmaceutical industry.
The company is one of several state-owned manufacturers operating under the Ministry of Industry and Minerals.
