Shafaq News – Homs

An explosion in the Syrian city of Homs killed three people and wounded five others, Syrian media reported on Friday.

Local outlets said the blast was caused by a suicide bombing that targeted the Imam Ali Mosque during weekly Friday prayers.

The circumstances surrounding the explosion were not immediately clear, and no group has claimed responsibility.

Violence against religious and sectarian communities has intensified in parts of Syria in recent months. Syrian media have reported hundreds of Alawite civilians killed since the start of 2025, with Homs described as the most affected province.
